Last week’s workshop: I-P-S

2010/05/04

I-P-S aka Interactive Presentation System. The team of THIS.PLAY from Vienna joined us last week to do a really cool workshop with their presentation system.

The workshop ended with a fully functional prototype of a multitouch presentation-software supporting rudimental gesture control (written in Processing using i.a. the TUIO library). The content we have shown with the software was a concept of what could have been implemented with more time and money =)

After several hours trying to make a fancy Captcha mandala, I discovered the poetic potential in these generated pixels. I got stuck on it and made a collection of the finest bot poems of our time. Work in progress.

Marioland 3D

2009/07/06

Finally T-O, Chris and me finished our portation of Marioland on a 3D environment with real intuitive input devices – your own feet! The application, made with TCL and Lighting uses tracking of your feet while you’re walking in front of a 3D wall. Project Natal go home!

Web 1.0

2008/07/11

Finally, my WEB 1.0 PROJECT caused some traffic now. When it worked, you where able to make a real 90s website out of your studiVZ profile within some seconds. On July 3rd 2008 over 1000 students took the chance to get out of Web 2.0 studiVZ until the “little helpers” where blocked. The most impressive thing was, how easy it is to get these sensitive personal bytes of each studiVZ user.

The PROJECTs documentation can be found here. Special thanks go out to Dragan Espenschied and Olia Lialina for the support.

However, maybe Web 1.0 will inspire you to stop feeding social
networks and create your own ones.
Olia Lialina

Right now I’m working on a little Firefox add-on with tobi-x to get you even more easily back into WEB 1.0. Stay tuned!

VJ party

2008/06/25

Our first interactive pikix-VJ-show at the “Merz Rotlicht Party” was a great success. Via controller the crowd was able to turn some animated GIFs into a psychodelic light performance. Here are the GIFs we used.
